We had about an hour or so of very heavy rain about 2 pm, then another bout between 6 and 7 pm so I'm hoping the butts are full up again. Was very muggy earlier but now nice and fresh.
The forecasted showers never came here. It rained lightly for about 10 minutes on Tuesday evening despite lots of thunder and lightning. Apart from that, still zilch
Rain was forecast for today but we only got a few spits this morning, nothing since, and now there's none in the forecast for the next fortnight
Amazing how localised it can be. We left Cheshire East in pouring rain this morning and spent the day in Sheffield (16 miles or so from @JennyJ)mostly in the rain. One of our water butts is full to the brim, the other two thirds full so it's obviously been ****ing down here all day. More forecast in the next few days.
We were hoping to do the Buxton Garden Trail this weekend in fine weather but alas it's not hopeful.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
25c. Took the grandkids to other grandparents yesterday,it went all black, there was a decent shower, they live 25 miles away. As I was getting nearer the South Downs and home, roads were dry,sun was out, never had any rain.
Serious rain here now. Absolutely no doubt all the butts will be full. Pity day 2 of the Buxton Garden Trail has been ruined but we had a full day yesterday and visited a few more this morning.

Humid, cloudy, breezy. Absolutely no rain whatsoever, so l have given in and gone round the biggest bed with a hosepipe as l couldn't bear to see plants suffering any longer. There are too many to do with a watering can and l felt knackered before l began. The soil is either like a dustbowl or concrete
