We spent most of the day out yesterday and returned home to discover that Moggy had resigned. Such a loss!
This day is call'd the feast of Crispian....
But we in it shall be remembered
We
few, we happy few, we band of brothers....
Yes, the very happy "band of brothers" who made fortunes under the reign of their immoral, unethical chief....
I do agree Mogg is reminding all that Sunak is, not only brown and Indian- which we can all see- but not even a Christian. As for the brotherhood of the BoJ, who can deny that the "party bunch" were the few, happy few, band of millionaire brothers...
Plenty of anti-foreigners on the radio, and elsewhere, today objecting to the chap who told the citizens of Tunbridge Wells that he had diverted funds from impoverished cities to others like T W.

Yes, I think his pointed use of Crispin's day, implies all that and, perhaps, even more. After all, in Shakespeare, it's the king of England who makes the St C. speech; the new PM is British but is he English?
With Moggy, you know his dislikes are deeply unpleasant and even fearful.
The objections to Sunak continue today too, especially his re-installing of Braverman as HS. That's "integrity" of a new kind!
How true! I forget who it was who said something similar: Our planet provides enough for everybody's need but not enough for everbody's greed.
"I hope you had a pleasant day out, Helen."
I'm afraid, it was a difficult day. A friend of ours (who is a GP, as is her husband) has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, which is quite advanced. She's only 49, has four children, the youngest of whom is just nine years old.
We took her out for the day. We all tried our best but the atmosphere was rather heavy.
I still feel somebody has punched me in my stomach. I feel sick, discombobulated and useless.
I'm so sorry about your friend, Helen. I think I know how you're feeling. Perhaps, all we can do, when our friends are suffering, is to just be there for them.
So sorry, Helen. I can imagine that not being able to remove her "pain" makes you feel useless but it's at difficult times that we need our friends most; and judging by the way this has affected you, nobody could doubt you're an amazing friend. Just be there for her.
I have a dream that my.. children.. one day..
will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their
character
Gosh, this must be so difficult for all her family and all her friends. Don't feel useless, Helen, just be there for her. Let her tell you anything she wants and support her choices on what she wants to do next. Do you live close to each other? Can you help with the children? You too will have to decide what and how to do what you can. Drop me a PM if it helps. I wish you and your friend all the very best.
What upsetting news for your friend, her family and you. You're obviously very fond of her, so the news has shocked you.
Try not to feel useless, Helen; easier said than done,of course, but I should imagine she needs you to be there for her and she needs you to be strong.
I do wish you, your friend and her family all the luck in the world.
Thank you all for your comforting words and support. OH has suggested much the same. Luckily her mother lives in the same town, so the children will be fine. We live quite a distance away. I will try to stay strong for her...

Martin Luther KingI saw his hand written letter and laughed. Arrogant to the end. Was it not too unsubtle a reminder to all that whatever Sunak's Diwali might be to him
