Agastache Black Adder still reigning supreme here, i’ve never seen so many bees in the garden in my life. Mainly bumbles but all different varieties, we must have nests near by. They’re also jumping on the Lavender and Aster f. Monch
  • You're right Mark,I've just been out for a mooch round and there are hundreds of different bees.
In the last bit of really hot weather there were big bumbles on the lavender, now they've buzzed off to different plants, and the Honey bees have taken their place! Loads of those little hovering bees too.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.

My clinopodium nepata (lesser catamint) is the most popular at the moment. While doing some gardening in this morning's baking sun I managed to observe three bumblebee species, three species of tiny bees (probably miner or Mason bees, exact ID unconfirmed) and a leaf-cutter bee.

I picked up a Calluna vulgaris Firefly yesterday. That's started to attract attention, particular of the smaller bees.

Lavenders are still the favourite, but the Abelia next to them is fairing well too.

I previously said erysimum Bowles Mauve but I reckon I might give the crown to the Allium drumsticks since they flowered, pound for pound, absolutely full of bees, wasps and hoverflies.

That being said, I've got quite a few pollinator-friendly plants and the lavenders, buddlejas, fuchsias, hebe and californian poppies are always buzzing as you can imagine.

Have to be careful when deadheading...

The lavender is always a favourite and lasts longer than the other plants but also at the moment they're loving the globe thistle, and they loved the bottlebrushes when they were in flower.
