Ive seen a lot of dwarf fruit trees for sale, lidl etc, im sure they are fine too. Is yours a full size version? Oh yes now i see it is that the photos have finally loaded. Nice tree, you can look forward to some juicy victoria plums.
Hi Bijdezee, I am not quite sure if it’s dwarf plum or a full size however I do think it is a full size from what the information tag is saying 200-300cm in height. How accurate it is only time will tell. I just got excited and bought it without thinking twice. I planted it today in a large pot and will replant on the ground sometime next week. ^_^ currently sitting in my shed for frost protection as we have a forecast of -1c tomorrow and possible snow for the next couple of days.

Hi i am new here but have looked for answers over the years.. how did your plum get on? I recently bout 2 apple trees coz and golden delicious a Victoria plum tree a sweet cherry treee and a pear tree from b&m all potted in large pots and starting to grow more.. my question really did you bear fruit the first year? I have 2 gala apples trees grown from seed over 5 years old still waiting to bear fruit these stems from b&m are much larger but don’t tell you the age of the tree any little helps Thankyou gemma
Your apple trees grown from seed will not be a Gala apple, it is likely to have been cross pollinated, and could have had a totally different apple as a father. If you want fruit early, you need a dwarf rootstock. Mostly these will be two years old, one year after the top has been grafted onto the rootstock. You should take any fruit off the first year when they are small, to give the plant chance to establish.
