No funny faces here - I love those Fire - they are a hoot!
A few pictures taken in our garden yesterday that I would like to share with you.Naval or Penny Wart - it grows randomly across the island - usually attaching itself to walls so treated as a weed but I allow a few clumps to grow in the garden.Clematis Blue Dancer, not easy to take pictures of due to it's pendulous flowers. Our first yellow flag iris flowers alongside the small pond.A new aquilegea for me - I think it is Granny's Bonnet - I am not keen on yellow flowers but I find this one exquisite - so delicate.I am not sure of the name of this aquilegea but I love the colours.

These are the pictures of the dark painted fence, I tried to find a bit of colour for contrast but not much in my back garden yet, it’s very much a work in progress as it’s a new build.

@GuernseyDonkey2 - how elegant the Navalwort looks!  Kudos to you for appreciating what is defined (and usually negatively perceived) as a weed.
A 'weed' is just a plant in the wrong place - subjective! ;)

Thanks everyone for sharing your lovely pictures. The boost to our happiness levels on seeing these pics is immense.

Bright star, can you please share the name of the pale yellow geum in the first picture? I too have it in my patch and would like to know what it is called. Thanks.

Tree peony fans, the pale pink tree peony in my first picture is 'Er Qiao' (Twin Beauty). I, however, do not remember the name of the cerise one with the dark centre. If you are able to identify that, please share here. It was bought from Thompson & Morgan, maybe, 7-8 years back. I have scoured through my mails but couldn't locate its name.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Thank you wild flower - our naval/penny warts look far healthier than those struggling to grow in the walls or roadsides.

The Geum is called Tequila Sunrise. I’ve just discovered this group of plants and have gone a bit mad and dotted them all round the garden, I’m also growing some from seed.

AlliumPeurpleSensation, I’ve just painted my fence a dark colour, my OH saw next doors fence painted and said he liked it so i struck while the iron was hot and did ours. When all the plants and shrubs grow it will recede into the background but the flower colours will really stand out well.....I hope. I’ll post a picture later.
I think I may get away with grey, just need to find the darkest shade I can.
    what shade do you have?
