So sorry to hear of the passing of your pusscat friend Vera @Liriodendron, she looks as if she was very happy with you which is our job as a cats staff, but oh how it hurts to say goodbye to them x
She did indeed have a very happy life with us, after a dreadful start from which she and her sister Gracie were rescued. Gracie had leukaemia and we lost her when she was 9. They were both pure white, Gracie with blue eyes and an innocent expression, Vera with green eyes and a passion for being upside down... Vera was diagnosed with pancreatitis a few months ago, & then, recently, with a tumour so we knew we'd not have her for long, but we've still shed many tears today... lots of happy memories though.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Sounds like a very fine life indeed! I'm still missing my boy Flatters McCatters terribly, that passed in December. There was a fluffy tabby that had been living in the shed that I'd been feeding so after his passing, Sweetie the shed cat got an upgrade and moved in the house. Now she's so grateful that she won't go outside, but I still miss my boy, they all have such unique personalities 😢
Hadn't visited this thread for a while, so sad to see passing of your cats.
Kato is 10 months and loves the garden but my daughters are still insistent on keeping him on a harness when out in the garden. He has figured out how to do a Houdini a few times but hasn't strayed far and each time we found him amongst our plants at the front garden, we live at the end of a cul-de-sac so pretty safe from traffic anyway.
So sorry @Liriodendron. One of our two adoptees - Cosmos - is white with blue-green eyes. He and Minstrel are 5 now. How time flies. We adopted them after our old cat, abandoned and found living in our barn in Belgium - died of cancer a month after we moved here. We have 2 dogs but I needed a cat. Or two.

I remember the story of Flatters and Sweetie, @WonkyWomble. Sweetie obviously knows when she's well off...
We decided Vera would be our last cat, @Obelixx, because it's hard to find a cat sitter here - and because we're getting to the age when a cat might outlive us! Not sure if we'll be able to stick to that, though. We'll see!
