In my experience, cats, dogs and birds all have the sense which we lack .. when they are sick and hurting they go into almost coma. and scare us silly. They stop everything to allow all the strength to go to healing. My dog once fell down steps and the day after i thought she was dying.. wrapped her up with a hwb, fed her water with a dropped... she was half bassett and did the "I am dying" face so well.. The suddenly she recovered. whereas we struggle on... early days yet with yours. as long as there are fluids going in.
Yes we are giving her plenty of water with a syringe
I used to make my won rehydration fliud for  them. a pint of water, tbs sugar and tsp salt. gives them all they need. You are doing great...  really great
Thank you very much for your kind words they are much appreciated mate

Been where you are too many times not to empathise. It is heartaching and exhausting. I lost a cat and a dog within 24 hours last year and panic every time any of mine so much as blink
    Sorry to hear that mate

To anybody that is interested Chester has not had his stitches out and his collar off and is much happier. I've not had many bad times in my life but them past 2 weeks had been terrible

@BirminghamMarc1972 he is a handsome lad, so nice to see his progress thank you. I’m sure it wont be too long before he is bounding round your lovely garden again. Best wishes.
He's been out yesterday for a combined time of about 2 hours and he managed to flatten some cornflowers I got growing 😂
