Hello Marion - hope you've found your way back to the forum, and survived the "Beast from the East". I'm hoping to do some gardening today, at long last!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Yay!! I've found you all that was hard work, hope you all survived storm Emma! my Forsynthia is just starting to flower so that's a good sign Spring isn't far away 😀👍.
Morning Marion. I pruned a cornus Siberica yesterday and have a jug of the red stems in the porch. My forsythia is still at the flower bud stage. I hope you didn't have too much snow in Bristol.
Yesterday was lovely here in the Pennines so I did a bit too much pruning - my hand is very stiff this morning! But it was definitely a tonic to be outside looking at the new shoots and sniffing the soil.
Your cornus stems will be pretty, Joyce. I wonder if they will produce roots? I used cornus prunings as supports for my sweet peas one year, and found I had some rooted cuttings by the end of the season.
