Help to identify This Cactus
in Plants
Hello,
We bought this cactus (I'm guessing it is a cactus) last year from the side of the road with no description. And after a year it is growing well and has started to sprout as you can see from the image.
Can anyone help with the name of it so I can get some more information on it.
Thank you in advance
Emma

It is definitely a cactus, it looks like some species of Cylindropuntia.
Looks like Austrocylindropuntia subulata , one of the more primitive 'leaf-bearing' genera of this fascinating order of plants . Native to the Peruvian Andes I believe .
