Funnily enough I've just been looking online for a new one - the (very) old one seems to have the motor running for most of time now so I think the coolant has slowly leaked out and it's likely costing a lot more to run it. I see it as an opportunity to increase capacity and cut down leccy bill at the same time, so a win-win situation!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
I've got summer cropping sweethearts. I sowed in march and planted out in may. They look like they won't be ready for a while.
My red cabbages have only just starting heading up,but I think they're a winter cropping variety. Still waiting for the first of the purple sprouting broccoli. Cavalo nero has been growing well and I've been picking the outer leaves to eat for the last 6 weeks or so.
This is my first year growing brassicas, seems to be going well apart from the constant battle with cabbage whites. Think I'll net them next year.

Corn & cabbages look great scroggin. When do you plant out your cabbages? Mine have still got a fair way to go till they're ready for eating.
